Seniors

1st & 2nd XIs

Our senior teams are currently playing in Division A and C of the Dales Council Cricket League. Our 1st team focuses on members with the highest cricketing ability, whilst our 2nd XI balances an ambition to win, enjoying the game, and giving fair chances to all. Ensuring junior members are given opportunities to play senior cricket is also prioritised. We have a great social aspect, and ensure that every member feels part of the club and local community.

We are always looking for new players that want to train and play regular cricket. As a volunteer-run club, all members are expected to help out off the field too, whether it is putting benches out on a match day or picking up a paint brush to spruce up the pavilion before the start of a season.

New members are given a warm welcome and made to feel part of the club from day one. If you are looking for a team that is relaxed but plays good and enjoyable cricket, then Meanwood is where you should be.

3rd XI – Taverners

Our 3rd XI is a friendly side where all Match Day Subs are given to charity. In 2023, we chose Sunshine & Smiles, part of the Leeds Down Syndrome network, to receive any monies raised. Sunshine & Smiles play at Meanwood so it was a logical choice. The 3rds will help members who are not regulars in the 1st & 2nd XI access competitive cricket, whilst also allowing our budding juniors to also experience senior cricket. Please come along to support the team and, whilst we are aware times are tough for many, any donations to the Taverners cause are most welcome.
